My second chance with Elton John

Apr 18, 2011 by     2 Comments    Posted under: Culture, Photography

Elton John walked the red carpet at the 2010 Time 100, but he didn’t stop for any photographs.  It was such a disappointment.  This is the one and only I managed, and it’s very flawed:

But Elton is scheduled to be at the premiere of The Union on Wednesday at the Tribeca Film Festival, so I will have my second chance.  He’ll be there with Bernie Taupin.

  • Hello David. I’d like to ask if you have ever taken a picture of a person whose opinions you don’t agree with? If you had the chance to take a photo of Peter King or Glenn Beck for example, would you do it?

    • Yes I have, and I think I did a decent job. Here is Sarah Palin and here is Glenn Beck, both images found at the top of their Wikipedia articles. A liberal writer friend of mine called me a “whore who will take a good picture of anybody” after he saw the Palin portrait, so there you go.

My images of Cordoba House (“Ground Zero Mosque”) protesters also treated them neutrally, I think.

Got anything to say? Go ahead and leave a comment!
