Dating Game killer Rodney Alcala’s appearance on the show (video)

Below is an incredibly well-edited YouTube video of convicted serial killer Rodney Alcala, who went on a murder spree a few months after this appearance on the Dating Game in 1978. The contestant, Cheryl Bradshaw, later refused to go on the date:
Though Alcala won the date with Bradshaw, she ultimately refused to go out with him, according to reports.
“One wonders what that did in his mind,” crime profiler Pat Brown said in an interview with CNN. “That is something he would not take too well. They don’t understand the rejection. They think that something is wrong with that girl: ‘She played me. She played hard to get.’ “
Alcala became a killer just months after his appearance on the show, prosecutors said.

Am I the only one who thinks Cheryl Bradshaw was *hysterical* in her appearance? And kudos to her wisdom for backing out of this date, whatever the reason.

Good for Cheryl (and it is hard to intellectually comment on the irony of putting a convicted child rapist on a TV dating show)
The whole thing was just too surreal. I wonder if there is an interview that she may have given or something after he was caught. Can hardly imagine what would have been going through her mind and how lucky she was. The clip gave me the chills given the circumstances.
I think he was pretty creepy in this…
I wonder why there wasn’t a background check on this dude. Were there background checks on the show? I mean if there were why was he the exception? Thank goodness Cheryl Bradshaw used her instincts
Actually he was alao convicted of 2 murders that happened BEFORE this show!
@mugwort..It states that after the show he started killing people..If they did a background check on him after he killed people, and gotten caught he would, well hopefully (never know what a show will do for ratings) be denied.
But after seeing @Cam comment..again you never know what a show will do for ratings..or maybe they don’t look at background reports on individuals contesting on shows back then.
But anyways..
He’s a a major creeper..but then most serial killers are.
