Beheading I would prefer myself, but not at the hands of a drunk executioner. Remember the traitor that was beheaded in the second season? It took several times before the executioner was done with him. It was so graphic, but that's why we love "The Tudors." A mix of gore and soft porn in one episode.

Oh wow, you are right! Ghastly! According to Wikipedia, which uses Findagrave.com as a source:

According to some accounts, Lady Salisbury, who was 67 years old, frail and ill, was dragged to the block, but refused to lay her head on it, having to be forced down. As she struggled, the inexperienced executioner's first blow made a gash in her shoulder rather than her neck. Ten additional blows were required to complete the execution. A less reputable account states that she leapt from the block after the first clumsy blow and ran, pursued by the executioner, being struck eleven times before she died. She was buried at the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula within the Tower of London.

An absolutely horrific way to die but beheading wasn't always quick and painless - have you heard about Margaret Pole who moved and the executioner had to hack at her neck a few times! Yuck! Makes me get goosebumps!

Don't forget the hero of Braveheart! They showed a pretty graphic scene.

I just got done reading a book on British History, well actually only half of it cause it started getting tedious and repetitive. About every 10 pages was an example of someone being quartered. As you can tell I didn't make it past 1870.
