Vanity Fair Tribeca Film Festival photos for Wikipedia

My photos were not as good as I had hoped they would be, partially because the “Reserved” pen (what is known as the “A-List” amongst the photographers) where I was located was right at the entrance of the event.  By the time the celebrities went through the paparazzi/press photographer pen and the video pen, they got to us and just wanted to go inside (especially since it was cold).  So, the moments to shoot were fleeting.  Many photographers in the reserved pen griped that they could have stayed home, considering the shots they were getting.

I haven’t had a chance to upload all of my shots, but here are a few for Wikipedia.  When I returned home at 10:00 p.m., I was up until 1:30 a.m. photoshopping and uploading (I also have a full time job, so I needed some sleep, even though today I’m exhausted):

Hey there, correct me if Im wrong, but hasn’t this event taken place in DOHA, QATAR?

I’d imagine that with all the budget this Arab country had allocated for the event, that they’d at least deserve to be mentioned, so that the unwary reader would’t assume it’s NY or some other “usual suspect” city.

All ideological considerations notwithstanding of course ;)

    Great shooting though.

    • Hi Yousef – they have only recently started a Qatari TFF – members of the Qatari royal family were here at the 2009 event, but otherwise, this was all in New York City. Although if the Qataris would like to bring me out to photograph their festival for Wikipedia, I’d go in a New York Minute :-)

  4. You should try to make some top list style posts or something like it
